Just Plain Bill

Misbehaving

As a child, I was prone to misbehaving, forever talking and having to be reprimanded. “Motor mouth” was a well-deserved nickname. Looking back, I believe this was rooted in my need for attention, as my academic performance was outstanding (labeled as gifted, with an IQ of 138). Evidently, my intellectual abilities did not satisfy my need to be recognized.

As my school life progressed, I gradually settled down a bit, to where, even without studying much, I passed my required courses.

As I’m presently teaching public school students, returning to teaching after a more than 35-year break, I am blessed to be able to work with all types of students to help them succeed in these “entitlement” and social media focused times.

Especially those students also prone to misbehaving…
